Each individual's need for counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy is different. Sessions are tailored to meet that individual need.
A counselling session is a safe space where clients can explore their individual problems. Clients are supported in finding new ways of living. In a collaborative alliance both therapist and client plan what will happen in the process. Clients are sometimes invited to experiment with new behaviour patterns in between sessions.
Sessions are usually 50 minutes long. Typically (after the initial assessment) there would be ten minutes catching up on what has happened since the last session, and an agreement on what will be discussed in the current session.
Clients choose how many sessions they wish to have and how often in agreement with the therapist.
Julie can also offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which is a form of therapy which influences the way in which clients think, feel and behave.
